Genomes Supported

Genome Enhancer can scan any NCBI Genbank formatted genome. To scan a particular genome, the Genome Enhancer program must be in the same folder as that genome. Currently, we have packed Genome Enhancer with three separate genomes, D. melanogaster, C. elegans, and A. thaliana.

The fly, worm, and plant genomes were downloaded on October 24th 2008, from the NCBI Genbank FTP site:
ftp://ftp.ncbi.nih.gov/genomes/

These genomes are from the following releases:

• Drosophila melanogaster: FlyBase Release 4.1 (February 2005)
• Caenorhabditis elegans: WormBase genome release WS150 (February 2006)
• Arabidopsis thaliana: AGI (2000 release)
